The Ihlara Valley is located near Mount Hassan and Mount Melendiz, two of Aksaray’s three volcanoes. The valley reaches about 100 meters deep and has been formed by the Melandez River for thousands of years. The Ihlara Valley is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Cappadocia. The valley extends from the village of Ihlara to the Selim Monastery in a village of Salim, about 14 km long. The heart of Cappadocia is 80 km away.

Best activities in the Ihlara Valley

• You can start by walking from the first entrance to the valley, which runs 1 km away, where you can enjoy the picturesque valley views.

• or you can enter through the second entrance which is the most famous in the valley, but is considered the most remote, symbolizing its beauty and the density of its trees.

•The third entrance through the village of Belisirma provides access to the valley by car, the village is located in the middle of the valley and contains some restaurants where tour groups often stop for lunch. The fourth and last entrance is at the end of the valley at the monastery of Salim.

• it is very nice to stroll through the valley of Ihlara Cappadocia filled with vineyards, stone trees, pistachio trees, enjoy the sound of the Melendiz river's water deer, and explore the rich wildlife in the area, you may see lizards, frogs, butterflies, birds, even eagles, sheep and more.

• upon arrival in the valley, you can enjoy a seat at the restaurant or the cafe located right above the Meldnies River.
