Bodrum Ancient Theater

Located on a hill overlooking Bodrum's harbor and famous castle, the Ancient Theater, or the Roman Ancient Theater, is one of the most beautiful historical landmarks of Turkey's Bodrum history that tell the story of the city's ancient past, built in the 4th century BC. The Ancient Theater was where kings met the people under the reign of Halikarnassos ruler King Mosulos, and was developed for its current status in the 2nd century B.C. As in ancient Roman theaters, the Ancient Theater consists of three main parts: The theater, the orchestra, and the stonework. The Ancient Theater has a capacity of approximately 13,000 people, and the amphitheater has become an open museum after excavations in 1973 and is currently used for festivals and musical performances.
